Outright opposition to modernity is often dismissed as backward-looking or “reactionary” and associated with a rigidly hierarchical or aristocratic outlook.
Do you think that the thoughts of the aristocratic anti-modernist are incompatible with the egalitarian anti-modernists? I have read some of those you listed from both "worlds" and found great thinkers on both parts of this divide.
Thank you for the question . I think there is a lot value on the aristocratic side. In part 10 of this series I suggest we can’t just run them together as if the differences didn’t matter. However, you’ll see folks like Junger come up repeatedly in what I write. Have also written on Dugin. Their critique of modernity is typically very good. It’s for reason of the prescription that I felt it was important to articulate and draw attention to the egalitarian variety of antimodernism.
Good sir would you be amenable to chat for my YT Channel (@ThinkingThomasNotions)? Critique of the digital has been a central though not exclusive focus, and your perspectives seem consonant with the theme.
